Why They Matter
Ivor Dent Sports Park is a premier, high-performance turf facility designed to support sport development, tournaments, and community use. To protect the quality of the fields, ensure participant safety, and preserve the long-term sustainability of the park, all users are required to follow these rules:
NO DOGS OR PETS
In compliance with City of Edmonton Bylaw 2202
This protects the health and safety of participants, prevents contamination of playing surfaces, and helps maintain a clean, high-quality environment for sport.
ROADWAY ACCESS
Roadways must be clear for emergency services at all times. No stopping or parking on access roads.
Access routes are critical for timely response in medical or safety situations, while also allowing maintenance and operations vehicles to move efficiently and safely throughout the facility.
ACCESS RESTRICTIONS
Gate will be closed/locked outside park operating hours. Park hours are limited to scheduled events.
High-quality turf with heavy usage requires dedicated recovery time. These closures also enable park partners to safely carry out maintenance and repairs, while also detering unauthorized use, vandalism, and damage to park.
SMOKING RESTRICTIONS
No Smoking on or within 10m of fields. Smoking permitted only in designated areas as per City of Edmonton Bylaw 14614.
This supports a healthy, family-friendly environment and reduces fire risk and litter, while protecting the playing surface.
PARKING
Parking is only permitted in paved designated parking stalls as per City of Edmonton Bylaw 5590.
Vehicle traffic can quickly damage turf, create unsafe conditions, and degrade the playing surface that thousands of athletes rely on.
NO TRESSPASSING
Access only permitted to members, renters, approved users, and spectators of approved events.
This helps prevent misuse of the space, protects against theft or damage, and ensures the facility remains available for its primary purpose: organized sport.
